Film director Aashiq Abu and his wife and actor Rima Kallingal on Friday jointly launched a mobile app which will make the entire range of information about Kochi-Muziris Biennale'14 available to visitors literally at their fingertips.
The entire Biennale exhibits have been charted out on the app. So when a visitor walks up to an installation, complete details on the artist and the artwork will pop up, in English or Malayalam, on the mobile, together with video links that feature interviews with the artist. Director Aashiq Abu and his spouse and actor Rima Kallingal, on Friday evening, launched a mobile app which provides visitors information on the venues, artists and seminars of the Biennale.
Besides a map of the venues, all the works at previous Biennale have been charted out on the app, which is available on iOS and Android. By the side of each work of art is a Bluetooth ‘beacon’ that activates information, either in English or Malayalam, on the artist and the work on the visitor’s mobile screen.
